When we know the scripts we follow we have a great opportunity to change them and modify the way we think and behave. Transactional Analysis (TA) has a wide range of tools and models that can be used to explain communication and relationships. They can help identify what goes wrong in communication and how to interact for better results.
When we become more aware of what we do and how and why we do it, we can become more aware of what supports and what hinders us. Used with individuals, couples and groups, TA is effective with a wide range of therapeutic issues. Unique in the depth of its theory, this process allows for the individuality of both therapist and client.
Transactional Analysis was founded by Eric Berne in the 1950s and 1960s and has evolved since. It is now a well-established approach used widely in psychotherapy, counselling, education and organisational development as well as many other areas.
TA is beneficial in settings such as organisational training and consultancy, education, personal development and coaching. Many TA concepts are really simple to learn and apply.
TA can be powerful, illuminating and fun.
